...glas mi izriše nov obraz, izkleše novo telo. so trenutki, ko glas ni več moj, le nekako se vali iz mene. ...the voice draws a new face for me, carves out a new body. there are moments when the voice doesn't belong to me anymore, it just rolls out of me somehow…

Ne yz sadu bylo, sadu zelënoho, a ne yz lesu bylo, lesu tëmnoho. Ne yz lesu bylo, lesu tëmnoho, a ne dva sokola vyletaly. Ne dva sokola vyletaly, Y dva rodnykh-to bratts vorozhaly. Dva rodnykh-to brattsa vorozhaly, Y pryezzhaly ony k Dunay rechke. Pryezzhaly ony k Dunay rechke, Y uvazhaly ony Dunay rechku. Uvazhaly ony Dunay rechku, tayi stali k Dunay, stali potishat.

kdo se boji svojega glasu? kdo se boji moči svojega glasu? kdo ne mara svojega glasu? kdo je izgubil glas? čigavo telo ne prenese svojih glasov? kdo se ne prepozna v pesmi? kdo je ne razume? kdo ne razume svojega glasu? who is afraid of own voice? who is afraid of the power of his voice? who does not like his voice? who has lost voice? whose body cannot stand his own voice? who does not recognize himself in the song? who does not understand it? who does not understand his own voice?

… there are voices I never heard or experienced, but they are nevertheless a part of me. I remember them from somewhere. there are voices that aren't mine, but they nevertheless belong to me. they speak about me, they express me. there are voices that aren't mine, but I belong to them nevertheless...

about

Mini album Taste of Silence was created as a derivative of work on performance Taste of Silence Always Resonates. It contains upgrades of ideas, songs and recordings created by Irena Tomažin and Aldo Ivančič in an intensive work process and which were additionally layered in the perspective of possible independent musical release. Depite the additional processing basic starting points for performance creation radiate through: “exploration of various states of mind in relation to what is inscribed in the voice and in the body by our historical memory, through the legacy of singing folk songs, for example, as well as through personal memories originating in the processes of the socialization of our voice and the body.” (B. Korun) Or as Irena writes: “The voices with which we speak are the melodies of past orators. The present, on the other hand, with its ubiquitous sounds, inscribes itself onto the body as a set of very different voices, with which we delineate the voices that are yet to become (our) future oral traditions.”
